Hey there! I'm Tasha Vanden Heuvel.

Overwhelmed with the

whole college application

process?

Intimidated by the

level of competition these days

Feeling like applying to college

isn’t what it used to be?

I hear ya.

I’ve been through it

with all three of my kids.

It’s a marathon of

deadlines and essays and

forms and letters and...

But what if...

What if you could fly like

the wind through those

26ish miles of college apps?

What if you were decked in the best available running gear and had an experienced runner to cruise alongside you, showing you the way and coaching you up the steep parts, around the winding spots, and through the places where you just want to give up?

The truth is the terrain has changed in the past several years. The college app process is, indeed, a whole new scene.

And in addition to a navigating a completely different college-app landscape, the path continues to evolve...

Acceptance rates are down.

Stanford’s is currently less than 4%.

Applicant pools have grown.

Colgate College received over 21k applications this year.

Rules are always changing.

SATs are about to be digital and 2 hours in length. Who requires them anymore?

This is where I come in...

Having received a Masters from Georgetown University in Linguistics and then gone on to teach English as a Second Language at Santa Barbara City College, UCSB, and Santa Rosa Junior College, grammar and writing are my expertise. Teaching and playing with words have alway come natural to me, and honing my skills in the unique area of college essays and applications has been and remains a passion.

During my undergraduate studies at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, I spent a semester at Wheaton College outside Chicago and another at the Université de Montpellier in southern France. I even came home to my old stomping grounds and took a class at Sonoma State one summer. Indeed, I’ve had the opportunity to attend and teach at all sorts of colleges, big and small, public and private, far away and close to home.

Most recently, while helping my children and their friends fill out college applications, I earned my College Counseling Certification from UCSD

I’ve got the map. I know the college search and application

surroundings. I'll show you the way.

I believe every kid who wants to go can.

And I’d happily be first in line to help yours get there.
